As the warmer weather continues, we often see an increase in burglary offences across our communities. Open windows, unlocked doors, and homes left unattended during holidays can provide opportunities for criminals.

🏡 Help protect your home by taking a few simple target hardening measures:

✅ Always lock doors and windows, even when you're at home or in the garden.

✅ Avoid leaving windows open overnight or when leaving the property.

✅ Keep valuables, keys and handbags out of sight and away from windows and doors.

✅ Use timer switches on lights if you're away to give the impression someone is home.

✅ Ensure side gates, sheds and garages are secured with good-quality locks.

✅ Trim hedges and shrubs that could provide cover for offenders.

✅ Ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property if you're away on holiday.

✅ Consider installing doorbell cameras, CCTV, or additional security lighting where appropriate.
